Rules and Tournament Formats

General Information

For this arena battle series, we invited 12 players to compete

Players will compete for 3 title of honor: Titan, Legend, and Hero
Each player will be playing minimum of 7 games
No team is required as we will be all playing with and against each other
Warning: The match format might change if a participant doesn't show up. This is to ensure fair matchups for everyone.

Total Rounds

There are going to be total of 4 rounds and one extra round for breaking ties.

Ultimate Show Down round

In this round, all 12 players will be playing to determined who will play in Battle of Heroes and Conquer of titans round.

All players will be assigned random teammate and random opponents for every match.
Only at the beginning of each match, players will know who their teammate and their opponents are.
Each match is a 11 point game, win by 1.
Winning a match will earn you 11 points. But losing a match will be negative of score difference.
For example: If a player wins the match, they earn 11 points. But if they lose, their score will be minus the difference (11 to 5 points so the losing team will be minus 11 - 5 which is -6)
After the 7 matches, the lowest 4 scores players will be eliminated from the tournament.

Seeding Stage

Now the top 8 scores from the Ultimate Show Down round will be eligible for the seeding stage for Moment of Truth round.

Position 1 and Position 4 will be in Team A
Position 2 and Position 3 will be in Team B
Position 5 and Position 8 will be in Team C
Position 6 and Position 7 will be in Team D

Moment of Truth

Each team will now play and will determine who will proceed to Battel of Heroes and Conquer of Titans.

Team A and Team C will be playing one game of 11 point win by 2
Team B and Team D will be playing one game of 11 point win by 2
Winner from both matches will proceed to Conquer of Titans
Team who lost from both matches will proceed to Battle of Heroes

Battle of Heroes

The losing team from moment of truth round will play in this round.

Each match is a 11 point game, win by 2.
Its a one game round.
Both players from the winning team will be honored with Hero medals.

The Conquer of Titans

The winning team from moment of truth round will play in this round.

Each match is a 11 point game, win by 2.
Its a one game round.
Both players from the winning team will be honored with Titan medals.
Both the runner-up players will be honored with Legend medals.

Tie Breaker Rules

The nature of this tournament can lead to tie breaker sitation which can be really challenging to deal with. However, with our careful experiment and simulation, our scoring format will prevent a lot of ties. But incase if we do face that situation, here is our quick guidelines:

If we have tie break among only 2 players, then we will do a skinny single match of 5 points, win by 1. The winning player will win the tie.
If we have tie break between multiple players, then we will use an alternative scoring format for those players to determine new score for the players.
The alternative scoring format is typically reserved for players that have lost the match. In this format, the score will be total points earned minus the score difference of the match.
Even with the alternative scoring format if we cannot break the tie, we will go with alphabetical order of player names to determine the player's final position.

We are all here for fun and challenging games. Since we will be playing with players with various levels of experience, it's important for everyone to follow the ethics code.

Please be respectful and be considerate of your partner and your opponent. Everyone has their own play style, and all players should respect that.
Ensure good communication with your partner. Share your thoughts on how you would like to proceed with the game and also listen to your partner to come up with a good strategy.
Always encourage your partners and pass on good vibes. Remember, a happy team can overcome anything.
Any misconduct, physical violence, or vulgar language will not be tolerated and will result in elimination.
Above all, have fun and show your best game to us.

Club Setup

Since this is a private tournament, we will be playing on two courts.

All games will be indoors.
Cameras will be set up across the courts to monitor the tournament.
You can also watch your gameplay once we upload the games to our app and our youtube channel.
Indoor lighting can affect visibility for some people, especially those used to playing outdoors. We recommend bringing any gadgets you have to help with visibility.
